More than 50 students got to know one of the most powerful lasers at a European university at the ATLAS Day at the Center for Advanced Laser Applications. The entire CALA team showed the new generation the broad spectrum of research with high-intensity laser pulses and laser-accelerated particles. After an introductory lecture, the students were able to wander through the experimental facilities of the CALA building and see for themselves what the physicists' workplaces look like in one of the most modern laser research centres at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München. During the cosy part with drinks and pizza, it was then possible to sound out directly with the leading scientists what bachelor's and master's theses are offered.
