Photography is a good piece of physics. This semester, physics students at the LMU have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with physics in photography in Dr. Andreas Döpp's seminar “Physics of Photography: First Principles of Computer Vision”. The seminar illuminates the most diverse facets, from optical lens design over the development of black and white images to modern light field cameras. There was also a lecture on science photography at the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications (CALA). There, the students were able to get an impression of how to show laser science in pictures. The seminar will be offered again next winter semester to students at both Bachelor and Master levels.
