On November 7, CALA researchers will celebrate International day of Medical Physics in commemoration of Marie Skłodowska-Curie's birthday. The staff of the Chair of Medical Physics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, led by Prof. Katia Parodi, invite all students to learn more about their research. There will be guided laboratory tours among other things through the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications on the Garching research campus. You can talk directly to researchers and students and find out about career opportunities. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Join us on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for an exciting afternoon full of insights into our research! We kindly ask you to register by November 3.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Schedule for introductory talks (Am Coulombwall 1, Garching Forschungszentrum):
2:00 pm: Prof. Dr. Katia Parodi: Medical physics paths and research opportunities
2:20 pm: Prof. Dr. Peter Thirolf: Compton imaging as tool for ion beam range verification in particle therapy
2:35 pm: Dr. Sonja Gerlach: Laser-driven particle acceleration for applications in medical physics
