Dear students,

do you want to know how one of the most powerful lasers in Europe works? Would you like to find out what can be researched with such a laser and which promising applications it offers for photonics?

Then visit us at the ATLAS-Day in Garching! With the ATLAS-3000, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München operates the most powerful laser at a university in Europe.

In order to give you, dear students, a better understanding of the diverse experimental and study opportunities of this unique research device, the staff of the chairs for Laser Physics and Medical Physics at the LMU are organizing the ATLAS Day 2026 on May 12.

In addition to exciting lectures and a tour of the laboratory there will be the opportunity to find out more about working student positions, Bachelor and Master theses. First-year students are also cordially invited!

We look forward to welcoming you to the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications, on the Garching campus.
