"Dr. Andreas Döpp, Emmy Noether group leader at the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications, has taken the final step towards his habilitation and completed his scientific debate with subsequent discussion on the topic of "New Frontiers in Laser-Plasma Acceleration: From Plasma Waves to Intelligent Machines". The event took place in the physics lecture hall at LMU’s main building.

Andreas Döpp joined the Chair for Laser Physics in late 2016. Two years ago he was admitted for habilitation by LMU’s physics faculty. Together with his team, Andreas is working on data-driven methods for optics and laser physics. Future plans revolve around the automation and optimization of laser acceleration in CALA, as well as the development of AI-assisted diagnostics.
