Would you like to get up close and personal with one of Europe’s most powerful lasers? Then this Saturday offers you a unique opportunity to do just that. During the Open House at the Garching Research Campus, the Center for Advanced Laser Applications will also be opening its doors. The scientists will introduce you to the ATLAS 3000. With this unique research instrument and its technically sophisticated infrastructure, you’ll also get to explore the experimental facilities. Discover how powerful light pulses are opening up new horizons for the medicine of the future.
From 10 am–5 pm, we’ll offer a five-minute presentation every half hour and on the hour, followed by a lab tour. Lab tours are limited to eight people per tour.
You can also test for yourself whether you have what it takes to be a laser physicist. On a small obstacle course, you’ll need to adjust a laser beam so that it ultimately hits its target in the experimental area with precision. Immerse yourself in the physics of high-power lasers at our research center – lasers that are helping us shape the future of medicine.
