From September 11 to 14, 2024, the international community of Medical Physics is gathering in Munich for the 5th European Congress of Medical Physics (ECMP). For the first time, this congress will be held in collaboration with the Trination Congress of the German (DGMP), Austrian (ÖGMP), and Swiss (SGSMP) Societies for Medical Physics. Under the theme "Bridging the Future: From Research to New Clinical Practice," the event offers a unique platform to exchange the latest findings and innovations in all areas of Medical Physics.

At the start of the conference, Prof. Ferenc Krausz, laureate of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, addressed the participants in a video speech. Here, he emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and invites participants to visit the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications (CALA) at the Garching research campus. As part of the congress, exclusive lab tours will be offered, showcasing the latest technologies in medical diagnostics.
